Sustainability & Packaging

Packaging

Outer Packaging - Either paper or cardboard. Paper tape is often used for extra security. All can be recycled or composted.

Bags & Sleeves - All protective bags are made from paper, including the glassine bags used for enamel pins, and so can be recycled or composted. Books, art prints, sticker packs and original art are packaged in compostable PLA (vegetable starch) sleeves, which can be composted at home or in your food waste collection.

Tape - I use exclusively paper kraft tape, which can be left on when recycling. I don’t know how well this composts, but feel free to try!

Tissue Paper - I may use branded tissue paper to help secure your order. This is too thin to go in recycling, but it can be composted.

Card - All printed backing cards and/or protective grey board can be recycled or composted.

Bubble Wrap - In some cases, I may use bubble wrap to secure delicate items, usually where they are handmade and otherwise may not survive shipping. This is always repurposed bubble wrap and can be disposed of in soft plastic recycling.

Products

Where an item is no longer wanted, please gift or donate it where possible.

Biodegradable Button Badges - These are primarily made from wood pulp and the transparent film is made from vegetable starch - both are compostable. The metal fixings should be detached and recycled.

Wrapping Paper - This is made using FSC paper and vegetable-based inks and is recyclable.

I always handmake my items where possible or source local manufacturers to cut down on the carbon footprint of my items.
